The selection criteria for this category is based on a combination of age, education, work experience, language skills in English and or French, and several adaptability factors like having previous work, study or relatives in Canada, or having a job offer from a Canadian employer.

For your application to be eligible for processing, you must either

  • be a skilled worker who has had one year of continuous full-time or equivalent part-time paid work experience in at least one of the 29 eligible occupations listed below within the last ten years, OR
  • have a valid offer of arranged employment from a Canadian employer or a current work permit to work in Canada

In the Skilled Worker category only, if you do not have arranged employment, there is now a limit to how many applications will be accepted per year in each of the occupations listed above. Proof of language proficiency will be required. If you qualify you must act quickly.
