Canada Immigration Services

Our Canada Immigration Services

At Ferreira-Wells Immigration Services Inc., we have been helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate Canada’s immigration system since 1995. Our team of Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) provides professional, affordable representation across a full range of immigration programs — without the cost of a lawyer.

Whether you are moving to Canada for the first time, reuniting with family, dealing with a refused application, or looking to become a citizen, we are here to help. Below is a full overview of every service we offer, each with its own dedicated page for more detail.

Professional Immigration Services

These are the core professional services we deliver regardless of which immigration program you are pursuing. Think of these as how we work with you — not just what we file.

Eligibility Assessments & Consultations

Before you invest time or money in any application, we assess your background, work history, education, and circumstances to identify the immigration pathways most likely to succeed for you. This is a no-obligation service — we tell you what options you have and what your realistic chances are. Knowing where you stand before you apply is one of the most important steps you can take.

What you get:

  • A plain-language review of your immigration options
  • An honest assessment of your eligibility and likely success
  • Guidance on what steps to take next
  • No pressure, no hidden fees — just straight answers.

Immigration Counselling, Coaching & Advising

Already have an application in progress? Hit a snag? Our counselling service is designed for people who need expert guidance, whether they are doing the work themselves or need help fixing a problem. We can review forms, coach you before a visa officer interview, help you respond to an IRCC letter with a tight deadline, and more.

A recent Federal Court decision confirmed what we have known for years: IRCC is not obligated to point out errors in your application. Getting it right the first time — or fixing it before it is too late — matters enormously.

Common reasons clients come to us for coaching:

  • Reviewing forms and supporting documents before submission
  • Preparing for a family sponsorship interview
  • Responding to a letter or request from IRCC under deadline
  • Correcting errors or omissions in an application already filed
  • Adding a family member or updating an application mid-process

File Review & Personal Coaching

This service is built for confident clients who want to handle most of the application themselves but want a professional set of eyes on their work before it goes in. We will review your completed application in a 2.5-hour in-office appointment, catching errors and omissions that could cause delays or trigger an interview, plus up to one hour of follow-up phone support after submission.

Immigration Hearings & Appeals

A refusal is not always the end of the road. If your application has been refused, or if you are facing a hearing before the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD), we can represent you and advocate on your behalf. We handle a full range of appeal and
hearing matters, including sponsorship refusals, residency obligation challenges, detentions, and citizenship residence questionnaires.

We can assist with:

  • Sponsorship refusal appeals at the IAD
  • Residency obligation hearings
  • Detention reviews
  • Citizenship residence questionnaires
  • Humanitarian and compassionate (H&C) grounds arguments
  • Taking over already submitted applications

If you have received a refusal letter or a hearing notice, contact us right away. Deadlines in these matters are strict and missing them can close off your options.

Immigration Hearings & Appeals

It is a common misconception that the guidance needed to navigate the often complex immigration process can only come from expensive lawyers and costly legal experts. This is simply not true. We benchmark ourselves with peers of equal experience and the highest reputation, and set our prices to be more competitive while always delivering the highest quality of service that is second to none.

Immigration Programs We Handle

Canada offers dozens of immigration pathways. We work across all major categories. Below is a summary of each program we handle, with a link to the full page for more information.

Family Reunification & Sponsorship

If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you may be eligible to sponsor a family member to join you in Canada. Family reunification is one of the most emotionally important — and procedurally complex — areas of immigration. We have been doing this work for over 30 years and we know how to get families together as quickly as possible.

Who can be sponsored:

  • Spouses, common-law partners, and conjugal partners
  • Dependent children
  • Parents and grandparents
  • Other eligible relatives in specific circumstances
We also handle sponsorship matters for LGBTQ+ couples and families. Every
relationship deserves the same professional support.

Express Entry (Federal Skilled Workers & Canadian Experience Class)

Express Entry is Canada’s primary system for selecting skilled workers for permanent residency. It is competitive — hundreds of thousands of candidates apply each draw — and the difference between getting an invitation and being passed over often comes down to how your profile is optimized.

We help you build the strongest possible Express Entry profile, understand how points are calculated, and know when and how to apply. We handle both the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) stream and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) for those who have already worked in Canada.

We help with:

  • Express Entry profile setup and optimization
  • Calculating and improving your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score
  • Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) applications
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applications
  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) connections through Express Entry

Our Immigration Services FAQ

Here are some frequently asked questions about our Canada Immgration services.

What immigration pathways does Ferreira-Wells handle?

We cover virtually every major category of Canadian immigration: family sponsorship, Express Entry (Federal Skilled Workers and Canadian Experience Class), work permits and LMIAs, study permits, visitor visas, business immigration, refugee and humanitarian claims, citizenship applications, and appeals before the Immigration Appeal Division. If you are not sure which program applies to your situation, start with a no-obligation eligibility assessment and we will point you in the right direction.

Do you handle refugee claims?

Yes. We assist with inland refugee claims filed before the Refugee Protection Division (RPD), as well as Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) applications and Pre-Removal Risk Assessments (PRRAs). These are complex, high-stakes cases and we treat them with the urgency and care they require. If you or a family member is in Canada and fears returning to your home country, contact us as soon as possible — timing matters enormously in these situations.

What is an Inland H&C application and when is it used?

An Inland Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) application allows someone who is already in Canada — but does not qualify through a standard immigration program — to apply for permanent residency based on their personal circumstances and ties to Canada. It is often used when a person has been here for many years, has Canadian-born children, or would face serious hardship if they had to leave. H&C is a discretionary process and building a strong case matters. We have extensive experience with these applications.

Can you help with a refused application or an IAD appeal?

Absolutely. A refusal does not have to be the end of the road. If your application was refused, we can review the decision, identify grounds for appeal, and represent you before the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD) if you are eligible to appeal. We also assist with judicial review applications. The most important thing is to act quickly — appeal deadlines are strict and missing them closes off your options. Contact us as soon as you receive a refusal.

Do you handle work permit and LMIA applications for employers?

Yes. We work with both employers and foreign workers. For employers, we handle Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications, which are required in most cases before hiring a foreign national. For workers, we assist with LMIA-based work permit applications, post-graduate work permits, open work permits, and various employer-specific permits. If you are an employer trying to fill a position you cannot find a Canadian candidate for, start with a consultation so we can assess your options.

How do I know which immigration program is right for me?

That is exactly what our free eligibility assessment is designed to answer. Canada has dozens of immigration pathways and the right one depends on your work history, education, family situation, current status in Canada, and your long-term goals. Rather than guess, book an assessment with us — it costs nothing and you will come away with a clear picture of what your options are and what realistic chances look like for each one.

Not Sure Where to Start?

Most people who call us for the first time are not sure which immigration program applies to them — that is completely normal. Canada’s immigration system is complicated, and the right path depends on details that are unique to your situation.
Start with an eligibility assessment. Tell us about yourself and we will tell you what your options are, honestly and without obligation. Most people hear back within one business day.

We invite you to review the many glowing, positive reviews from our customers, to see that the hard work of a focused, passionate group of immigration experts (with over 20 years of experience!) is just as effective as the most expensive law firm.
